caring for your outerwear

Our outerwear is treated with a C0 (PFAS-free) DWR finish. This is a safer alternative for the environment, but it can be less resistant to dirt, oils, and water compared to older treatments. Over time and with use, the water-repellent performance will naturally fade. Here are a few tips to keep your gear performing at its best:

  1. Wash & Dry Occasionally
Follow the care label (usually cold wash, low tumble dry or line dry in shade – never dry clean). Low heat in the dryer is key to re-activating the DWR; line drying alone won’t achieve this.
  2. Reinforce Water Repellency
Boost the DWR with treatments such as Nikwax TX.Direct.
  3. Use Proper Cleaners
For best results, avoid regular detergents and instead use a cleaner like Nikwax Tech Wash for either spot cleaning or machine washing.
